WEBSITE REVAMP : SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC’S PACE ACADEMY

Part of Singapore Polytechnic, PACE (Professional and Adult Continuing Education) Academy offers a variety of education and training programmes for adults to enhance their employability.

This project is done in a short span of 2 weeks. I was involved in both user research and interface design.

  What we did   • Conducted Content Audit to understand the information we are dealing with  • Vet the site using Jakob Nielsen’s 10 usability heuristics, to discover usability issues • Synthesised the 2 personas given, and obtained the top 3 user ne

What we did

• Synthesised the 2 personas given, and obtained the top 3 user needs:
1. Reliability and Brand of the school is important to me
2. I want to know more about the courses’ admissions and schedule
3. Are there any financial aids for me?

 • Competitive Analysis, to ensure our IA is better or equivalent to the good websites

 • Customer Journey Maps to show a user’s emotions while using the website. I like how it brings out the empathetic aspect of UX.

 • Brand analysis, including an interview with an alumni, helps us see the value of SP from the students’ point of view, and how we could utilise on SP’s strong branding and good location.

 • We went on to create a paper prototype, mid-fi prototype, and did usability testing. We then edited some parts of the our website based on relevant users’ comments.

  • We did a card-sort internally, to re-arrange the features into categories. Thereafter, we sent an online card-sort to potential PACE students, to see if their thoughts resonate with ours. We proceed to conduct tree tests, giving our participants
